2015 Speakers

Our theme for 2015 is “Here Am I! Delighting in God’s Will” taken from Isaiah 6:8

“And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here am I! Send me.’”

Arlene Morrow – I am from Tampa, Florida, where I worship at North Livingston church of Christ. My husband David and I have been married for forty years and became Christians thirty-two years ago. I have worked with physician practices since 1970. For the last twenty years, I have been self employed as a nationally recognized healthcare consultant and seminar leader.

Cami Bunting – My husband, Don, and I have lived in New York City for the past eleven years to work with the Upper West Manhattan church of Christ. We love our work here and have been blessed to have so many happy years. Living in New York is …. never dull. But our cozy apartment on the Upper West Side feels like a home and is a respite from the chaos of the city. I “have no greater joy” than that our three sons walk in the truth. Two have married wonderful Christian women, and I have the three cutest grandchildren on the planet. I work part-time for Weight Watchers, and I love to bake – so three days a week, I help people avoid desserts, and on the weekend, my alter ego pushes sweets on my church family. I am happy to organize a week-long Bible Study Camp for girls, called Far Above Rubies, or FAR Camp for short.

Joan Byers Coffey – I have lived in Louisville, Kentucky, all of my life. I attended Florida College for two years and then graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in Elementary Education. In 1972, I married Larry Coffey, and together, we have two sons, two daughters-in-law and eight grandchildren. We have worked with the Douglass Hills church since its beginning in 1968. I have been an elder’s wife for 37 years. I have had many opportunities to teach all ages, and that is truly one of my greatest desires. I also am involved with several community service organizations. I have been blessed to be able to spend my time as a volunteer.

Janet Hicks – I was born in Bessemer, AL in 1964 to Joe and Carolyn Phillips where I attended the Hueytown church of Christ. We moved to Decatur, Ga in 1970, where I spent the remainder of my childhood attending the Snapfinger Road and Rays Road congregations. I married Grant Hicks in 1987 and we have been married for 28 years. We have three beautiful daughters, Blake, Reed, and Amanda, as well as two sons-in-love, Daniel and York. Over the years, we have worshipped with the Lilburn church of Christ, the Walnut Street church in Cary, NC, and have been with the South Forsyth/Mountain View congregation for 20 years. The Lord has allowed me a life’s work in His service. I have been a homemaker for 23 years. As the Lord wills, I choose to remain as such continuing in the writing of various materials, teaching classes, participating in VBS, and serving the saints, young and old, daily. For the past 5 years, I have had the pleasure of serving on the Atlanta Women’s Weekend committee with four wonderful women. It is one of my greatest joys. Art is my most productive secular pleasure. I am pleased to have several art pieces that hang on the walls of friends and family.
